About

What’s the big idea?

That’s the question I ask myself when starting every project. It’s the concept, the story, the strategy – design must have a reason. What’s more, design should work. It’s not enough to just create a stunning body of work, but it must be usable, practical and appropriate for all audiences.

This is how I approach every challenge, whether a logo, digital experience, print communication or environmental space. Beautiful, practical design solutions with a purpose.

Originally from the Bay Area, I’m a graduate of California College of the Arts with a BFA in Graphic Design. I started working at Landor Associates as an intern, and then transitioned to a full-time role in the environments and corporate identity groups. Following Landor, I worked at Enterprise IG (now Brand Union) and Interbrand in New York. I spent several years at CoreBrand before moving to Minneapolis where I worked at Larsen Design. Upon returning to California, I opened the California office of CoreBrand in Santa Monica as Creative Director. Two years ago I relocated back to San Francisco where I am currently a Partner of Design at Tenet Partners.

In my spare time I run, hike, ski and mountain bike.
